Scrap for Caps

Scrap for Caps is a submission to the Shovel Jam 2025, a short prototype to demonstrate a fighting system akin to the late Dueling Blades.

Controls - Mouse only

Above your cards are two buttons (forward and stop) which let you move and pass on your attack respectively. 

When moving, a green circle will appear, indicating your movement range. Once you click or dragged to a location, there will be a blue projection of where you will move once you attack (or pass). 

When attacking, a yellow cone with red inside will appear, indicating the effective area of the attack. The yellow area indicates a normal hit, and the red area indicates a critical hit. Each attack also has an energy cost, represented by a yellow square, as well as your remaining energy being next to your health.

Once you select your attack and direction, you press the play button to confirm. If you change your mind or made a mistake , you can select the pause button to redo your choices when you attack or pass.

The enemy will also be moving and attacking, so you have to outplay them to earn bottle caps!
